6 of the Coolest Outdoor Wicker Hanging Chairs
What's cooler than an outdoor hanging chair? The answer; a wicker hanging chair! I've caught myself dreaming about some of the hanging chairs I've seen on Gardenista, Home Design Lover, and Design Swan. This prompted me to pull together a list of cool outdoor wicker hanging chairs.
Hanging chairs are a luxury. The feeling of weightlessness is stress-relieving like a hammock but nurturing like a daybed. It's cute and delicate yet all the while fun and enchanting. I've seen them used inside of nursery rooms and also used as focal points of feminine designs. The wicker weave makes the chairs breathable so air passes through the chair and cools your back, perfect for days under the sun in the backyard.
Frequently Asked Questions About Outdoor Wicker Hanging Chairs
Airy comfort with resort-style good looks. Wicker hanging chairs give you the weightless feel of a hammock with the comfort of a cushioned chair. The breathable weave keeps you cool, and a hanging chair makes an eye-catching focal point on any patio or porch.
Only if you don't have a sturdy beam or ceiling hook. Many hanging chairs, like the Hospitality Rattan Spectrum, hang from a freestanding stand, so you can place them anywhere on your patio. If you plan to hang a chair from a beam or porch ceiling, make sure the structure can safely support the chair and the person sitting in it.
All-weather resin wicker or olefin rope over an aluminum frame. Synthetic wicker and olefin rope resist fading and moisture, and aluminum frames won't rust. Avoid natural rattan outdoors, since it breaks down in sun and rain.
Wicker for a classic look; rope for a modern one. Woven resin wicker, like the Panama Jack and Hospitality Rattan chairs, has a timeless, resort-style look. Rope chairs, like Sunset West's Milano and Dana, feel softer and more contemporary.
Yes, especially if you want room for two. A porch swing, like the Lloyd Flanders All Seasons Swing, seats two or more and brings classic front-porch charm. It needs a sturdy porch ceiling or swing frame to hang from.
Rinse it, store cushions, and check the hardware. Wipe or rinse the wicker with mild soap and water, bring cushions in during bad weather, and check chains, hooks and stand hardware every season.
