Sunbrella Fabric has been hailed as the best in outdoor cushion fabrics. Manufactured by Glen Raven Inc., Sunbrella fabrics are used for a variety of applications including outdoor furniture, indoor furniture, boat covers, convertible automobile tops, and awnings. Highly durable, water resistant, and fade resistant, Sunbrella fabrics are so well engineered that you need to see it to believe it.
Sunbrella fabrics are easy to wash, extremely low maintenance, and mold/mildew resistant. Cushions use a slip off cover that can be tossed in the laundry cycle to remove any dirt spots. This is truly a historic feat of modern science. Watch the video below to see how well it works!
Sunbrella Fabric Pressure Washing
I came across this video from Design2Chill while browsing the internet. I was instantly amazed by this demonstration. The video does a great job illustrating the superior all-weather qualities of Sunbrella fabrics. You can clearly see the before and after results of a power washing clean. Some background on what’s going on in the video:
- A couch has been sitting outside for almost 4 years and has NEVER been cleaned.
- The couch is made by D2C and uses Sunbrella outdoor materials.
- A pressure washer is used to jar built up dirt from the surface of the couch and left to dry afterwards.
With just a little spray and some scrubbing, the couch is brand new again! The close up shots show you that all the dirt and grime are completely removed. Just think about what this could mean for your outdoor patio cushions! You’ll no longer have to worry about spills or dogs jumping on couches with messy paws. Simply remove cushion covers and toss them in the laundry cycle!
Why is Sunbrella so Good?
Many patio shoppers wonder if this is just a sales gimmick and for good reason. Nobody wants to be tricked into buying expensive fabrics that offer no added value. Rest assured, Sunbrella fabrics are used across the industry and for good reason.
1. All Weather Mold, Mildew, Chloride, & Water Resistant Fabrics
The biggest selling point for Sunbrella Outdoor Fabrics is it’s all-weather materials. Sunbrella fabrics prevent mold and mildew from growing. This means that they can be left outside during light rain showers.
2. UV Fabric
3. Sewing Thread
Sunbrella fabrics last much longer than cheap cushions because they use Tenara Sewing Thread. Teneara sewing thread is made from 100% expanded Polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) which is 3 times stronger than conventional PTFE.
Sunbrella Fabrics are available in over 248 choices and is constantly expanding their collection. Many interior designers love this about the company as there is always a perfect color/pattern for every space imaginable. View Custom Sunbrella Decorative Cushions.
