Hemlock Wood: Crafted from FSC®-certified hemlock, your sauna’s interior and exterior wood surfaces are naturally durable and resistant to warping. To maintain the wood’s smooth texture and warm tone, wipe surfaces regularly with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh cleaners or abrasives that may damage the natural grain. Over time, the hemlock may deepen in color, developing a rich patina that enhances its organic appeal. For added protection, apply a sauna-safe wood oil or sealant once or twice a year to preserve moisture balance and longevity.

Glass Panels: Clean tempered glass windows and doors with a non-ammonia glass cleaner and a soft cloth. Always allow the glass to cool completely before cleaning to avoid streaks or cracking.

Heater & Sauna Stones: Periodically inspect the Harvia heater and sauna stones for buildup or wear. Replace any stones that are cracked or crumbling, and clean out debris to ensure optimal heat circulation. Avoid overwatering the stones during use to maintain heater performance.

Ventilation: After each use, open the sauna door or vents slightly to allow moisture to escape and promote airflow. This prevents mildew and extends the life of the wood and heater components.

Outdoor Care: If your sauna is installed in an uncovered area, apply a protective exterior sealant annually to shield the wood from sun and rain exposure. Inspect the roof shingles and exterior fastenings periodically, resealing or tightening as needed.

Seasonal Maintenance: Before winter, check seals, hinges, and joints to ensure a snug fit against the elements. During heavy snow or rain, keep the sauna covered when not in use to prevent cosmetic damage and water intrusion.
