Aluminum Outdoor Occasional Tables — Coffee, Side & Accent Pieces
The right side table or coffee table doesn't just hold a drink — it anchors a seating arrangement, closes off the composition, and gives the whole outdoor room a finished feeling. Our aluminum patio furniture collection includes a wide range of occasional pieces, from compact side tables scaled for a single club chair to broad coffee tables that anchor a full sectional. Powder-coated cast and extruded aluminum, no rust, no refinishing, and a 15-year frame warranty across the board.
Why Aluminum on Your Side and Coffee Tables
Aluminum handles the occasional-table format particularly well. At this footprint, the lightweight advantage is obvious — you can reposition a cast aluminum side table with one hand, rearrange your lounge layout for a dinner party, or pull a coffee table closer to the fire without a second person involved. Cast aluminum tables bring ornate scrollwork and lattice detailing that pairs naturally with traditional OW Lee, Castelle, or Ebel seating sets; extruded aluminum tables give you the cleaner, thinner profiles that define Ratana, Sunset West, Jensen Outdoor, and Harmonia Living collections.
Top surface options matter here too. Glass tops are elegant and easy to wipe down but show water spots in direct sun and read more formal. Slatted aluminum tops drain completely and require almost zero attention. Solid aluminum tops offer the cleanest modern silhouette. All three come powder-coated — color-matched to your frame finish and fully sealed against weather. An occasional rinse is all most aluminum tables ever need. No oiling, no staining, no seasonal prep, and a 15-year frame warranty to back it up.
Choosing the Right Size and Style
Side tables work best at seat height or a few inches below — typically 18–24" tall — so a drink or a book is within reach without leaning. For a club chair or the end of a sofa, 18–22" diameter fits cleanly without crowding leg room. Coffee tables should sit 14–18" tall for standard deep seating; plan for roughly 18" of clearance between the table edge and your sofa front for comfortable foot traffic. A 48" rectangular or 36"–42" round coffee table covers most sectional and sofa set pairings well.
If you need a longer, narrower surface behind a sofa for serving or display, a console or sofa table is the right format. For full deep seating builds, our aluminum club chairs and aluminum outdoor sectionals show the coordinating lounge pieces these occasional tables are designed to accompany.
