July marks the beginning of Smart Irrigation Month. This month we will be sharing tips to reduce water consumption. Smart Irrigation can seem like a no-brainer but some are still slow to adopt these landscaping techniques. It helps conserve natural resources in the environment and it save you money. It’s a win win for everybody!

Smart Irrigation is a set of systems and techniques that are used to maximize water consumption. It allows you to enjoy a flourishing landscape while utilizing the least amount of resources. There are many methods of achieving this including smart water sprinkler systems, soaker hoses, xeric landscapes, and more.

- Save you money on your monthly water bill.
- Minimizes the investment needed for infrastructure by municipalities that have to store and carry tons of water. All of which is paid for by property taxes or municipal bonds.
- Helps ensure that water is readily available to populations across the globe.

Take a moment to survey your water consumption. Do you have water run-off leading to the sewage? What about time of day, are you observing local restrictions and watering hours? California is in dire need of serious water conservation efforts. We have reached record lows according to a rainfall measurements in San Francisco that indicate that we have received the lowest rainfall levels since the 1800’s.
