Seasons change, styles change, and even personal preference change from time to time. We understand the need to update the look/feel of your home, and the patio is no different. As we are coming into the full swing of spring, we thought you might like to see what the biggest trends are for outdoor furniture in 2013. A lot is going on this year, but you’ll love these top ideas!

Fireplace

The fireplace is the centerpiece of any outdoor space. It’s like a tv for the outdoors, plus it keeps you warm and lets you reminisce. If you are not ready to do a complete remodel for your patio, no worries. Check out electric fireplaces or even a chiminea! With just a little bit of wood or pellets, you can heat a large area and create the perfect social hot spot (PUN!).

What good is outdoor furniture if it doesn’t last? There have been numerous leaps and bounds in product toughness and durability recently. With stronger fabrics, rust-proof material, and environmentally safe manufacturing, there are plenty of great upgrades for your space.

One of our favorite trends this year has been making the outdoors an extension of your home instead of a separate place. No matter where you are, in or out of your house, you should feel at home. One way to do that is with the right furniture. Keep your aesthetic style flowing even after you open your patio doors.

Outdoor Storage

Every outdoor space needs storage. As most patios tend to be smaller, try finding a great way to keep things open and comfortable, like building or installing storage organizers for outdoor items. If you can center these organizers around commonly used items like grills or fireplaces, you save time.

Finally, the backyard is supposed to be fun! Why not add to the beautiful space by creating a game room? Our favorite idea: Backyard Bowling! Check out the link above for directions on how to build. You might need to use a translator, though, it’s in French, SORRY!
