This set is made from teak grown in sustainable forestry plantations. Plantation grown teak is not exactly the same as old-growth teak, but kiln dried plantation teak has a rich gold color throughout its grain and provides an elegant look that is nearly identical to old-growth teak and far more environmentally friendly. It has a lot of natural oils that make it water repellent, insect resistant, and suitable for use in exposed locations.
